Market Samurai Absolutely Rocks

I’ve been using Market Samurai for a while now — I don’t recall how long — and I can’t even remember what life was like before it. Before it, I used a combination of WordTracker and Keyword Elite. WordTracker is a great tool, but it requires so much clicking and digging that I rarely took advantage of my subscription. Keyword Elite used to be my tool of choice, even with its inconsistent results. I was just pleased to be able to automate the research that I didn’t mind that I very often only got a third of the data from the keywords I was querying.

Now I use Market Samurai, and I can literally find a handful of keyphrases in just about any niche in under 20 minutes. Not just keyphrases, but good prospects, because during that time I am also able to use the SEO competition dashboard to grab some nice competitive profiles.

Market SamuraiThere were some serious limitations in the “early days” of the tool, and I wasn’t without complaints, but here we are still in beta, and this software is more polished than 95 percent of the other marketing-related software I own. And I’d call that a conservative estimate. Most of my complaints from a few months ago have already been resolved with automatic updates. And there is still plenty more to come.

Anyway, I’m getting way off of the point here. I was recording some videos for my upcoming 30-day traffic blueprint, and I wanted to re-record one on using Market Samurai. In this video, I just picked a niche at random — colon cleansing — and found 3 good keyphrases that could be used to build a niche site. Even with all of my rambling, I still went from start to finish in under 20 minutes.

That’s Market Samurai’s greatest strength in my opinion: it produces actionable data fast. It might not dig deeply, but being able to dig into a niche in 20 minutes is gold.

    Thanks for that. I’ve been a Samurai user for many months and never stop learning. I found your commentary most useful. Surprised you did the whole search using Broad Match though - I tend to use phrase match after generating the initial list.
    I’d be intererested to hear your views on this.

    Hey Peter,

    I actually do it both ways — as you mentioned and as recorded in the video. My reasons for doing the whole search with a broad match is:

    1) Often the broad matches spawn the best refinement searches, so while I don’t use them for SEO, I’ll often do several runs with varying keywords to build a list for PPC campaigns;

    2) Tons of people do keyword research based on broad results, so if I see a killer broad keyword that is still good (but not great) as a phrase, then I assume that the top position will be harder to get because there are likely some ongoing link building campaigns outside of the top 10 that MS shows. Kind of a loose, additional competition metric.

    3) If I didn’t show it that way in the video, I wouldn’t have been able to illustrate my point about some broad results being dangerous. :)

    Great software, I was using market samurai to do some additional keyword research . It works perfectly with Niche Socializer software and training course and not only for novices, for tough marketing pros.

    Like everything more tools are better than just one.

    For someone who has never been involved with anything to do with SEO/Ranking etc - I AM TOO IMPRESSED!

    You have just delivered one of the best presentations on a product I have ever seen, so thank you for that.

    The reason I came over to see it was that we are just starting a business in the UK (none IM / AM) and we wanted to find the best way to identify the phrases for our market.

    Please, do NOT take this down as I may need to watch it a few times to get everything to sink in, as the ending just completely blew me away.

    You also need to thank the guys a stompernet for getting someone to mention the words “Market Samurai” as this is what dragged me in your direction.

    Market Samurai is great but only for a while. I mean come on - how often do you need to look for new keywords. I don’t do it more than once every 2-3 months so I don’t think paying for MS regulary would be a wise investement.

    Not a Market Samurai user, are you Jack? MS is a one-time fee, not something you have to pay for regularly.

    Personally, I use it every one to two weeks. You use it to find profitable niches — so I have a great incentive to use it often.

    Very strong video, Joe….

    The OCI function in Market Samurai is SO important. I’m glad that you point it out. Most of you out there wouldn’t believe some of the gem keywords that you can find with high commercial intent, and low competition volumes.

    PBR is important as well. I didn’t mention it in my previous videos and I will in my next one…

    I just purchased Market Samurai and have to say how much I love using it! It’s fairly simple to dig in and start finding results, but the fine tuning like you showed in the video makes a big difference when finding the ripe keywords. Thanks for the share.

    My opinion from experience that Samurai is good but not clear with the actual cost of just acquiring the product you are leading to buy more things and pay to use the trade mark right would so if anyone wants to invite you to the next 18 October to buy for $ 500 usd version of Driod the creator of micro-niches within 20 seconds and where there will pay more only hosting tuweb ranging around $ 30usd a month, but is the only thing here I leave this link and invite you to try the benefits of droid

    I came across your website and noticed your connection with market samurai.

    I thought it would be worth getting in touch as I’m sure you know a lot of MS customers have been experiencing issues with key word ranking checks.

    There are some other solid platforms out there; online tools would probably be best as you don’t have to worry about your proxy servers. Analytics SEO, Raven, SEOMoz and WebCEO are a few examples.
